msnyder6706 Posted November 17, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2007 Hello, My 9 yo son tends to get a skin rash after a few days of being in a clorinated pool. Will a salt water pool affect him less?
wrp96 Posted November 17, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2007 It depends on his skin. I find I have less irritation from salt water than chlorinated pools, but other people have problems with it. On all the ships I've been on, they have showers next to the pool so you can rinse off after being in the water. I would make sure he uses those every time he gets out of the water. CanadianTwosome Posted November 17, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 17, 2007 Absolutely he will have less irritation, but he should definitely shower off as well. He won't be getting the 'chemical burn' from the chlorine, but it's still always good to wash off swimming water of any kind.
bluezee Posted November 20, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 20, 2007 Be aware that the salt burns eyes so goggles might be a good idea.
gazingm42 Posted November 20, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 20, 2007 I think this depends. I have no problem with normal pools. But salt water pools break my skin unless I wash with the showers often.
