Does anyone like Funship Freddie? The colors game?

Newbie here-What is the Colors game?

You are assigned a color; red, white or blue by your dining room assignment. Activities throughout the cruise are arbitrarily awarded points (VERY arbitrarily...). There are no prizes or awards for the team with the highest total. It's just fun.

The Mardi Gras party was a fantastic hoot with the three teams competing in singing, dancing, and general craziness.

I was on the white team (GO WHITE TEAM GO WHITE TEAM GO!!!) and we sucked. I think the cabin stewards even beat us.

It really is silly and juvenile but tremendous fun. As I said, you get a chance to do goofy things that you would NEVER do any other time of the year. You get to be a kid.

As for the announcements during dinner, I didn't find them annoying in the least. It only took a very few seconds and didn't seem to upset anyone seated any where near me.

Just my $.02...

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who thinks the color game is stupid. It takes over all events on the ship and is not very interesting to those who don't want to participate. Last month on the Liberty at the deck party all they did was color cheers. Very stupid. I was looking forward to a fun party and I was extremely disappointed.

I really do not think too much about the colors game. I hear the announcements-- they don't bother me much. How can a short announcement cause such disdain in so many people here? Participation is very subtle--you either sit in blue or red. If you do not want to clap don't. Gosh there are so many other things in this world to worry about.

My guess would be that Carnival will do away with the colors when people stop participating. Since it appears to me on every cruise that the people who participated in games and such seemed to enjoy it, I guess it will be around for awhile.

I too don't understand why people get so irked over such a little thing like the colors. I do understand if the singing and dancing gets in the way of your dinner service. Just try and make sure you have your dessert order in before the festivities start.

Sit back and enjoy the excitment of your fellow passengers. That's part of the joy of cruising... sharing your good times with strangers.

I don't care either way about the color game and basically don't participate. I just think it's a bit silly. Maybe for Camp Carnival, but the dining room? Nah.

Funship Freddy is cool. A bit of a perv though, I got my pic taken with him and he kept rubbing my hip.

I like the colors competitions, it makes things more interesting and you get to know more people. On our first two cruises on Glory the colors games were great fun, but on our last on Liberty the competition was really hit and miss. There was a lot of build up on these boards about Liberty celebrating 'Carnival' or 'Mardi Gras' and it turned out to be the shortest and most boring deck party of all, with the colours used once for the congo lines. If I want to get a cheap strand of beads I'll go to the dollar store; and what does 'Mardi gras' have any thing to do with the 'Mexican' midnight buffet after the deck party. Bring back more colors (except for the horse racing game, that was dumb because really only three cabins got to play).

Freddie's okay; We've really only seen him in the opening show, once on deck and at the deck party on each cruise.
