cruising in June, July , or August, big gamble?

When we cruise with our 3 children we always go in August. So far so good, with the exception of one time we had to "float" around for an extra day while they tried to re-open the port of Miami. So basically we had an extra day at sea, arriving home Monday instead of Sunday. Thank goodness our TA helped us our by redoing our flights, transfers, hotel for an extra night etc...the e-mails were abundant but it all worked out. By 2pm that day it was all set and we had a great day and night. (although we felt so bad for the FL. residents on board not even knowing if there house was still standing or not....that was sad).

We usually cruise with our kids late June or early July and have always had perfect weather - with one exception in 2005 when there was an early hurricane (Emily) and we had to head to western carib. instead of eastern carib. - but had perfect weather anyways. This past June it was actually cooler in the carib. than here in NJ!
