Ports: public transportation????

I always find great info on the boards and have read lots about excursions... was wondering which of these ports: Sitka, Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan have easy to use and cheap shuttle buses to get around to the sites? I am not much of a narrated tour person (plus will have my 13 year old who REALLY isn't ) so I'd to be able to get to the sites myself
Thanks!

juneau has a great transit system. $1.50 each. Tell the driver you want to transfer everywhere. Buses right outside the dock. There is even a stop about 1 mile from the Mendenhall glacier and a flat walk there and back.
