marconi Posted December 4, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2007 Thinking of doing a world cruise on oriana in 2009 and I am worried about the food and if it is varied often or like the old line voyages that I was on in the mid 1970's.If possible if some kind cruiser could download some of their menus.Thankyou, Frank. CASPALL Posted December 5, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2007 I have all my menus from the cruise I have just been on. There is too much for me to type out to you, but I can assure you that there is a huge variety for every meal time. They also cater for special diets but would like at least 24hrs notice if it's something complicated. The food (in the restaurant) on our cruise this time was not as good as our last cruise on Oriana. I think it all depends on the executive chef at the time. However, it was not bad enough that I would complain about anything and it was good enough to allow me to put on 9lbs in weight! Aaaargh!!!!! The diet has started. We were on a section of the world cruise in March -23 nights and we did find that the same menus were repeated -maybe a 10-14 day cycle? With the extensive choice we found that it didn't really matter -if it was good then we had it again! A lot of the world cruisers seemed to eat in the self service restartant (there were a lot of empty tables near us)-maybe so they don't put on too much weight - or they got fed up with the silver service treatment every night. The Monocled Mutineer Posted December 5, 2007 #4 Share Posted December 5, 2007 My understanding is that there is a 20+ night menu cycle on P&O for longer voyages.
