Anyone Back From The Jewel?

Geez- after all the Pearl bashing and noro talk I'd like to see a focus on another ship. Anyone retun from the Jewel this week?

We took the Jewel in September on an Eastern Mediterranean Cruise and were very happy with it. The ship is spotless. We were however in a penthouse so we had quite a few perks which are not available in some of the smaller cabins. Drinks are pricey ( $8.00) but we felt all in all it was a good cruise.

Yes, we just got back from our first trip on the Jewel. The buffet in the Garden Cafe had a very good selection and quality of food but very loud. We would fill our plates and just move to the bow/stern? or next door to the pool (breakfast) for some peace and quiet. The speciality restaurants and main dining rooms were so so.

 

The service was outstanding and we won some pretty decent money in the casino.

 

Hubby & family had fun times on the excursions in Cozumel and Grand Cayman. I did a bit of shopping but didn't find much but I was looking for women's fashion's and not your run of the mill gauze outfits/tshirts.

 

Hubby and family attended the juggler thing and the cirque du soleil type of entertainment and enjoyed both. They were going to go to the SNL type and because of the time difference (one hour off in Cozumel), they were late. People were coming out of the session stating it was horrible so they blew it off.
