southerngoose Posted December 19, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2007 HI! Does anyone who has recently gone on the Voyager Transatlantic or other transatlantics have any feedback on the internet service? I'm thinking that the reliability of the service is related to where the ship is and where the satellites are. Since it's transatlantic, I wonder if there are enough satellites pointed there to get any service. I don't mind "slow"...but would like it to be up long enough to send and receive email. TEXASMUNK Posted December 19, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2007 from a gentleman that is currently on Voyager. He said the connection was slow, slower and slowest...
TJW Posted December 20, 2007 #3 Share Posted December 20, 2007 I was on the Navigator westbound this year, internet service was always available but your wildest perception of slow would be a disservice as to how slow it was. Remember, you are burning $'s connecting, downloading and opening, forget answering. They gave out numerous credits for the C&A coupon because you could use half of it just getting connected and receiving and opening. AOL speed was less than slow. I saw many individuals using the system early in the AM or late at night when the speed was a fast slow.
brn2crz Posted December 20, 2007 #4 Share Posted December 20, 2007 The gentleman that is currently on the Voyager TA discovered that his problem connecting was due to improper settings on his computer..
