Cocoa Beach hotel choices ??????

Hello all!

My friends and I are staying in Cocoa Beach for two days prior to a cruise in March. My friend said she bid on something on priceline.com, which I have never used before so I'm not sure how it works. Anyways, she said we will be staying either at the Four Points at Sheraton Cocoa Beach or the Hilton Oceanfront Cocoa Beach Hotel.

Any experiences with either hotel? There are six of us total (3 couples) as it will be our spring break time, are looking for fun nightlife spots within walking distance or short cab ride.

Thanks for any input! :)

First 4 Point Sheridan is owned by the owner of the Radisson in Cape Canaveral - it is centrally located and close to everything including shopping, the beach Ron Jon's and as for nightlife, there isn't too much of it around in Cocoa Beach or Cape Canaveral, BUT I am in an older group and I am sure Preston will be able to help you with that question - 4 Points has a feature that I love and that is if you go to the very top floor, you have a 360 degree view of it all. I understand their pool area is rather odd, but you can go to the Radisson and use their facalities.

The Hilton is farther North and not as centrally located, but a nicer hotel and you are right on the beach and you will need transportation.

Here is some insight on both of the hotels.

As for transportation here is that information that will help save you a few dollars and great to work with.

One way from the Orlando airport to the port is 70-80 dollars. Taking a taxi from your Cocoa Beach / Cape Canaveral hotel to the port will run you around $5-7. 10 minutes drive time from anywhere in Cocoa Beach.

Checker Cab of Brevard County 321-799-0377

http://www.checkercabofbrevard.com/

John or Robert also they offer limo service pick up and deliver from Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach to port or from port for $15.00 -you must mention this Board to receive this offer.

Cocoa beach Shuttle 321-631-4144 or 888-784-4144- website is http://www.cbshuttle.com/ Owners are Ron and Lisa who are a super couple and this is a mom and pop business.

12/18/2007 - I have just spoke to Ron and they will be offering a 10% discount BUT YOU MUST MENTION THIS BOARD FOR THE DISCOUNT (also let me suggest, if you receive great service, don't forget to tip your driver, but this is your choice. This discount starts tomorrow on the 19 of December 2007.

PS - They also offer private vans for anyone who wishes private transportation and yes the 10% does count on this also.

Art’s Shuttle 321-783-2112 or 800-567-5099; http://www.artsshuttle.com

Art's Shuttle was offering a 10% discount but decided to end it since their driver's were not even offered a tip.

Note: Most of the popular shuttle companies servicing the port are not private shuttles (they will wait for all reservations to board before leaving). If you need a private shuttle request it specifically!

IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM OR QUESTION, You are most welcomed to call me at my shop at 321-799-4438

I forgot these were nice places to visit, listen to a band, have a drink and something to eat.

Fishlips http://www.fishlipswaterfront.com/ - takes reservations

Grills http://www.visitgrills.com/ - also serves breakfast

Rusty’s http://www.rustysseafood.com/

Grills and Rusty’s don’t take reservations but if you call about 1/2 hr before going, they will put your name on the "list".

Can watch the ships sail out of the port at any of the above. The ships leave the port Saturdays at 4:00 PM, Sundays at 5:00 PM if they are on time. Drive time: 5 mins from the Radisson/Residence Inn/CI&S area.

For more info on all port-area eateries: http://www.portcanaveral.org/recreation/dining.php
