Tweek Posted September 23, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 23, 2004 This is from the "What's best in Barbados" post on this thread. I’d rent a sedan (not a MiniMoke) From Drive-a-matic at the pier and see the island. A taxi would cost you US$150 + tip for a 5-6 hour tour, the rental car will be between US75-90. I’d head South out of B-town going through the St. Lawrence Gap area, through Oistins past the GA airport. Your first stop would be Crane. A little above Crane is Sam Lord’s Castle. One-quarter mile above Sam’s is Bottom Bay. Here are a couple of pictures of Bottom Bay: http://home.internetcds.com/~barbados/bottombay.jpg http://home.internetcds.com/~barbados/bottonbay2.jpg Continue on past Kitridge Point where the road turns NW and see Conset Bay, Conger Bay . Turn left at Conger Bay and see St. John’s Parish Church, then and finally, Tent Bay. Tent Bay, Barbados http://home.internetcds.com/~barbados/tent-bay.jpg While you’re there, see Andromeda Gardens and have lunch at the Atlantis Hotel. You can continue on to the Morgan Lewis Mill and the Barbados Wildlife Reserve and St. Nicholas Abby. Continue on 1 until you reach Speightstown, Then South back to B-town. Study the map that they give you at the car rental agency, as there are many, many other things to see along the way. My thoughts on taking the bus…… …..It’s terrific and cheap but you waste a lot of valuable time waiting and stopping. If your quest is to see as much of the island as you can in a short time, a cab or a rental is preferred. Feel free to ask questions. Have a wonderful time on the island!
