Fishingshoes Posted September 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2004 Hi, looking at getting a suite on the Spirit ship. Wondering if there is a difference on the suites that are in the middle of the ship, say Deck 6 compared to suites at the very back of the ship on deck 5 or 7. Looking at Category 11 - not 12. Is there a difference in size/deck size/etc??? Need your help quickly as I have to decide now! Thanks so much for all your help!
kajsb Posted September 10, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2004 I sailed the Pride earlier this year and we had a category 11 room on the aft of the ship with a wrap around cabin. This cabin was unbelieveable. It was very big, with a separate bedroom and the balcony was 220 sq ft! I was a little afraid we might hear some noise or smell fumes from engine - never did. Was also told it would be too rough back there - never was. The size of the suite was wonderful, tastefully decorated, very very large and the ballcony was large enough for two chairs, two recliners and two small tables. I don't think you could go wrong booking it. Have a great cruise :)
jnnifer01 Posted September 11, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2004 We had a midship cat. 11 on the Pride last April/May and it was shockingly smaller compared to the cat. 12 we had on the Conquest. I've heard so many people talk about how much larger the aft cabins are with the wrap around balconies. I'd love to try one, but I'm scared that we'd have too much motion being in the back of the ship. The midship cat. 11 was liveable, though. I can't complain. I have pictures if you'd like me to email you. Hope this helps.
Pearl Z Posted September 11, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2004 If you don't get the aft cat. 11 you will be sorry!! Best cabin we have ever had! We only had 2 chairs on the balcony though...wished we had requested loungers...... This cabin is BETTER than the 11's and 12's mid ship...(have stayed in both) PLEASE GET IT!! If your unsure just do it for me!! I will think of you!!
jnnifer01 Posted September 12, 2004 #6 Share Posted September 12, 2004 Pearl Z, is it true that the aft cabins get more motion than the midship cabins? If this is just a myth, I'd like to try an aft cabin with the larger balcony.
Pearl Z Posted September 12, 2004 #7 Share Posted September 12, 2004 I did not notice more motion from the water/wind. We have booked AFT cabins ever since. Nothing better than looking back at the sea. You feel like you own the boat! Try it!!
