Passports

We are Canadian and I know this was a big question for us when we sailed with another cruise line in February so I am wondering if it is the same with Carnival. Does Carnival keep your passports when you check in?

The last 3 times we have sailed they did not keep our passports.. the only time I have heard as of late that they do .. is you are doing the NY to Canada run.

:cool: :cool: Never in all our cruises have they ever held our passport - probably only if you are a convicted felon. Only teasing.:cool: :cool:

We are from Australia and they have never held our passports. You can request them to hold your passport if you want to get it stamped at the different ports though.

I am Canadian as well and have had that happened to us a long time ago, we haven't had that happened since. Now a days, more people are required to have passports so they have improved things.

Hi,

On our first two cruises, 2001,2003 our passports were taken. We all had to be up and in a room waiting for customs to come onboard. Even babies had to be there. If you were late, you would be fined. I am sure glad it changed.
