Reduced deposit for onboard booking?

The only benefit is the on-board booking credit.

They started a new program last winter or spring where the credits are smaller for most cruises as they are based on the cruise fare rather than the length of the cruise. This has resulted in a $50 to $100 reduction in the size of the credit for most of the cruises we've been looking at.

You can also buy a certificate on-board for $200 that is good indefinitely which can be applied to any future cruise on Celebrity and entitles you to the on-board credit.

Thanks for the response. We'll be on Constellation in February and were planning to book a Feb. 2009 Solstice cruise, but were hoping to avoid putting out the full deposit. Princess allows you to book for just $100 pp, which, IMO, is a much better deal.
