Recommendations for stops on North Shore Drive?

Want to drive the North Shore in Feb, eat shrimp and shave ice, see surfers and do all sorts of other fun stuff. Have the whole day. Any suggestions on an itinerary? Also, how easy is it to park at all the stops?

We have done this drive many times. For some reason we always seem to go east out of Waikiki, past Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, Halona blow Hole, stopping at several of the nice beaches (Waimanalo, Kailua, Sunset, Banzai Pipeline, Waimea Bay, etc.) One of my favorite spots in all of Hawaii is La'ie Point. Eat shrimp at Giovanni's and shave ice at Matsumoto's.

This is entirely our opinion. We have found Giovanni's to be quite overrated (OTOH, even after an active day, we think the whole shrimp truck concept is overrated). We like Aoki's (I think that's the correct spelling) best for shave ice.
