Opinions on the Grandeur?

Out of curiosity, were you in the Platinum/Diamond priority disembark lounge? I've been on a few ships where they failed to turn the PA system on in the priority lounge...I ask because we also had white tags and were just walking out of the Windjammer when "White" was called over the PA system, so there definitley were announcements made. If the announcement wasn't made in the prioroty lounge (where most of the White tag holders probably were waiting), that explains why we had such an easy time getting thru Immigration and finding our luggage!!

The whole priority disembark lounge thing confuses me lately. This is our second cruise in a row where the priority lounge is so far from the actual disembarkation deck that it is actually better not to go there - especially since the majority of the people in the lounge all have the same tag color: White. On Explorer, the priority lounge was in Maharajas, but the disembark point was at the opposite end of the ship (and they closed the casino doors, so you couldn't pass thru). On Grandeur, the priority lounge was in the Viking Crown on the highest deck of the ship...

We were also on the New Year's cruise, great time. We had priority disembark. They did announce it over the PA in the Viking Crown lounge, we headed for the deck 10 elevators (because there were only two elevators going up to the VC lounge), and were able to zip right on out with very short lines. Smooth as silk.

Grandeur is very nice but no comparison to voyager and fredom class. the 2 are so different they can not be compared.
You are exactly right, the Grandeur is a far superior ship, very classy, just the right size, great crew and captain, very clean. You can't go wrong with the Grandeur

The Granduer is still my favorite --even after trying the Mariner. I love the size, the interior is classy, the staff is outstanding, and it feels like a cruise ship -- not a floating mall. I enjoyed the Mariner -- it is a beautiful ship -- but way too many passengers for me and I really don't need all th e amenities that came along with it. I like a ship to feel like a cruise ship and be able to look out and see the ocean at almost all times.

It was my favorite cruise of all, by far. I hope you have a lot of fun ;)

Tampa is also an easy port...we had only dealt with Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale up until the Mariner cruise from Port Canaveral. That was a nightmare experience!! Tampa's port is awesome..getting on or getting off..very easy and fast.
