happyone082 Posted January 4, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2008 My fiance (we're getting married in 15 days!) and I are surprising our parents and taking them on a cruise December 2008. My dad has always dreamed of going deep sea fishing so I want to include that in the surprise when we tell them next week. Does anyone have any suggestions as to who I could book an excursion like this with? Thanks! :D
Hokiefan01 Posted January 4, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2008 I haven't done any fishing in Cozumel, but have in St. Lucia and Barbados. SO that being said I have planned a trip in Cozumel in March with this group fishingcozumel . net. They have been very helpful all the way and quick to respond to my questions. So if there pre-trip work is as good as the trip I will be totally happy. But you can also do a Google search for "Cozumel fishing" and you will get some good results. Also from the trips I have done one we caught nothing and the other was the total opposite and catches like every 15-30 mins. No matter what you do and even if you get no fish it is still a blast to be out on the water, drinking (if you do that) and being with friends/family. Good luck on your search and when I get back in late march I can inform everyone how it was. You have a lot of time to plan and research it extensively. Zada Posted January 21, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2008 In January of 2006, I booked a fishing charter with 3 Hermanos (3 Brothers). They charged $350 for a half day for up to 6 people and that included equipment, licenses and beverages (water, soft drinks, and beer (Sol)). There were four in our party and we managed to each reel one in - a large wahoo and three small ones, a mahi-mahi, bonita, and barracuda. We were happy to each have brought one in. The brothers were great and spoke english. I'd recommend them for a fishing charter. The nice thing is that for our group of four, it was a lot cheaper than booking a fishing excursion through the cruise ship. Info on them can be found at http://www.cometocozumel.com/english/sub/activities-3hermanos.asp
