Taxi Availability at Honolulu Cruise Port to Hanauma Bay

We're looking to take a cab in the early a.m. from the cruise port for the Pride of Aloha to Hanauma Bay. Does anyone know if cabs are easy to come by (at both ends), what the approximate fare would be and if minivan cabs are available? Thanks.

There will be plenty of taxis at the pier. A taxi is about $40 one-way from the Waikiki hotels to Hanauma Bay, so add about $10 for the additional distance from the port, and I'm guessing (just a guess) that it will be about $50 one-way. I'm pretty sure that taxi vans are not allowed to go to Hanauma Bay carrying more than 8 or 10 pax (don't remember exact number). That's probably to prevent tour buses from descending and letting off a 100 people at a time. I don't know whether there are taxis readily available at Hanauma, but I'd bet that if there aren't taxis waiting, you could easily call for one (just take a couple of taxi company numbers with you).
