RevSmith Posted January 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2008 We love the Spanish Bay Reef and were wondering if anyone knows anything about the re-opening? We are going to the Caymans in April, August and October of 08...any chance of it being open by then. Thanks Rev
gelcys Posted January 9, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2008 If you mean the Spanish Bay Resort, and the reef swimming distance out from there - I guess I can't really say as I didn't look for any signs, but our NCL Bike & Snorkel tour was supposed to end up at the Spanish Bay Resort, and we certainly did go so somewhere... I think it was there... I'll describe what I saw and you can decide if it's right I guess - it had a loop drive way, when we got off the bus, we went in the side to get to the back instead of through the hotel lobby - we were offered a beverage, we were then right in front of the stand that had the snorkel gear, and other beach rentals, or we could go to the left to the open air bar. I walked through there, walked by the entrance back to teh lobby on my left, before getting to the changing rooms/bathrooms/showers. Very nice facility and nice beach.... but had to swim out about a block to get to the reef. don'tknow.... it was on 12/26??? hope it helps??
