sd63 Posted January 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2008 I have Sprint service and the cost on the ship to call home is $2.49/minute. Two of my ports are US Territories, San Juan Puerto Rico and St. Thomas. I just talked with Sprint and they told me that I can use my phone in those ports for no additional charges, however any time of day I call are charged against my "anytime minutes" that I have with my plan. Texting costs an additional 20 cents per text even though I have unlimited texting in my plan. Also, they do not gaurantee that texts will be transmitted. Can any Sprint customers who have used their phones in these ports confirm that they did not have any additional charges when they received their monthly bill? Peery5 Posted January 6, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2008 Don't know about sprint, but our verizon cost .60 per minute when we were in Puerto Rico, USVI and Mexico. Also when you turn your phone on, any voice mails, texts, etc. will come thru and bill at whatever the rate is.
