Facation Fanatic Posted September 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2004 Geezzz......I have a Eastern Caribbean cruise coming up in a couple of weeks and now another tropical depression has formed souteast of the US Virgin Islands. I'm beginning to wonder if there is going to be enough Eastern Caribbean left for me to visit. Oh well....the perils of scheduling a cruise in the middle of hurricane season. I don't care.....just as long as 2 things happen. First and foremost is that this tropical depression, which is predicted to make hurricane status in a couple of days or so, steers clear of everything and everyone and disappears into the cold northern waters. Those folks in the Caribbean and Florida don't need anything else to add to their misery. Secondly, that I get to go on my cruise. Put me on a ship and sit out in the ocean for 7 days is fine with me. Just get me on the ship and lose sight of land!!!!! My prayers and thoughts are with al the people who have been hit repeatedly by the hurricanes and storms and who are about to be hit again with Ivan. pungo3 Posted September 14, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2004 Carnival wants you money probably as much as you want to cruise. Don't worry, you'll go somewhere, even if it's in a huge circle out in the sea away from the storms. We, in Florida, would prefer not to have any additional hurricanes but will deal with them one day at a time. Thanks for your thoughts & prayers. hstrybuf Posted September 14, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 14, 2004 #11 is out there and churning around! I'm with you on this one. I hope it never touches land. There's been enough damage done for several seasons!
HighSeaslover Posted September 14, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 14, 2004 We are scheduled to leave on the 25th on the Triumph, to the Eastern islands. I told my family it is like of surprise cruise, as with the strom we don't know where we are going, and actually we are all excited about go no matter where we go. Booking in September is equal to a Mystery Cruise..... I love a good mystery! I do feel really sorry for the folks that live there, but I guess that the price you pay to live in paridice.... Facation Fanatic Posted September 14, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted September 14, 2004 Tropical storm Jeanine everyone.....ENJOY! OH GOODY!!!!! I can hardly wait!!!! I know Carnival wants my money as bad as I want to cruise, but they do cancel some of them you know???????? I'm not so much worried about the ship being able to go somewhere as I am the airports being closed, my particular flight being cancelled, or having to change flight plans to another time or another airport. LOL.........and I use to worry about what and how much to pack! Gesh!
IBEEMOM Posted September 14, 2004 #7 Share Posted September 14, 2004 I hope all of you will be able to reach port for your cruises. As you have said, it might be a seven day cruise to nowhere. Any way is is still a cruise. Think of the port fees and the cost of tours you will save. Maybe you can donate some of the money saved to the casino.
