alphakitty Posted January 14, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2008 Can you tell me what time it is? Our ship leaves at 4PM from San Diego. I've read some reviews that say muster drill is held the day after embarkation?? We are trying to plan a meet and greet. Thanks in advance. :)
falconfan Posted January 14, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2008 I have no idea what time. However, a suggestion would be to say "Let's meet 20 minutes after the completion of the muster drill." or something to that effect.
AZ Karaoke Girl Posted January 14, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2008 I thought it was required that all ships have to have the muster drill before the ship leaves port. I read that somewhere on CC.
mjbearit Posted January 14, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2008 I thought it was required that all ships have to have the muster drill before the ship leaves port. I read that somewhere on CC. Lisa, that is not correct. This is from the Coast Guard website: On voyages of one week or less, the drills must be held within 24 hours after leaving port. The web address is here: http://www.uscg.mil/hq/g-m/cruiseship.htm scroll down to Emergency Drills. I've learned there is a lot of information here, but a lot of misinformation as well. To the OP it is my understanding that the Spirit does the drill about the time they are pulling away from the pier. This may or may not be true, but that is all the info I have been able to gather. AZ Karaoke Girl Posted January 14, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 14, 2008 Thanks for the correction. I read it somewhere on here but you never know for sure if you are getting accurate info. I hope they don't do it as we're pulling away from pier. Thats the fun part and I'd hate the spend the sailaway on a drill.
alphakitty Posted January 14, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted January 14, 2008 Thanks for the input everyone. I'm still not sure when muster drill is, but I am going to guess that it's right before sail away. I think it is sometimes the next day on itineraries that leave later at night.
