Handicapped Access

We're leaving Feb. 10 on Caribbean Princess from FLL and our friend is now in a wheelchair from a recent accident. Does anyone know if there is a place for her husband to drop off their luggage and get her set in the wheelchair? They'll also be taking a walker for her to get around in the room. He just called their travel agent and requested a handicapped room but it seems there's a waitlist. We will be meeting them at the port to help them but it sounds as though it can get complicated. Anyone have any experience with the wheelchair and getting around? Thanks for any suggestions.

It's been over a year but from what I remember the last cruise I took from FFL, there should be no problem. I drove right up to the luggage drop off point and left DW and other couple and luggage there. Then I parked in parking deck adjacent to pier.

If my memory serves me, I proceeded past the parking deck and bore to right when I got near the ship then entered a large circular drive that took us to the dropoff point.

My wife recently got a electric scooter and I anticipate doing the same but dropping off DW and scooter at that time.
