spalady Posted January 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2008 We are cruising to Bermuda in May. My husband wants to go on an organized fishing tour but NCL does not have one offered. Does anyone know of a good one?
bdaguy Posted January 15, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2008 what kind of fishing trip does he want to go on? there's deep-sea sport fishing for marlin/tuna/wahoo etc for BIG$$$$. for inshore fishing you have a choice of baxter's fishing from somerset public dock, near somerset village, or from hamilton jolly roger fishing from hamilton. search "fishing" on http://www.bermudayp.com
BermudaMom Posted January 16, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2008 There are many charter fishing boats available. Most only take small groups up to 6 or 8 people. You can book for half day or full day. May daughter and I love deep sea fishing and have chartered a fabulous boat called Paradise One operated by the Bean brothers. They have a website: www.paradiseone-fishingcharters.com. There are many others but that's the one I have experience with and recommend to friends locally. The goods one do book up far in advance so if this is something you really want to do, it would be good to research what's available and book the date. There are links regarding fishing charters on various Bermuda websites.
spalady Posted January 16, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted January 16, 2008 Thank you both for your help - great ideas!! I will follow up. My DH is in good physical shape except for rotator cuff in right shoulder. He is wondering just how strenous deep sea fishing is. If he hooks "the big one" and can't reel it in will someone on the crew take over?
BermudaMom Posted January 16, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 16, 2008 The boat I went on they were helpful. I have arthritis so much as I enjoy fighting a big fish, it's not easy! They change the tension on the reel to assist as well but if you are clear at the start that he may need assistance, I'm sure they'll be only too ready to help!
