MinnesotaTraveler Posted January 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2008 I can find how I can purchase this on the NCL website, but it does not have any description on what comes with the backpack, I have been told this includes the soda card for kids...can anyone verify what comes with the backpack? We have never been on a cruise before and will be going for the 1st time on the Norwegian Jewel on Feb. 24th, taking our 6 yr old son. Thank you in advance for your help. :)
Kingmaker_inc Posted January 17, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2008 It has a Kid's Crew hat, a t-shirt (nicer than the one's they paint on in the Kids Club) and the all the pop you want card. Libby

silkhair1 Posted January 17, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2008 It ia a backpack in primary colors and very childish in nature. My boys did not like the look of it (4 and 6). It includes the soda cards too.

MinnesotaTraveler Posted January 21, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted January 21, 2008 You can purchase them under the Bonvoyage Gifts section on the NCL website. The prices are by the number of days your cruise is for. 3 day is 28.00, 4 day is 33.00 and 5 day is 39.00. Is this a good deal, or is it better to buy the soda card and buy a T-shirt on the cruise seperate?
Kingmaker_inc Posted January 21, 2008 #8 Share Posted January 21, 2008 The soda card alone is $16.00. The backpack has been referred to in other threads as "babyish" colours. I have not idea what that means, but I am passing it on for info only. We have an abundance of backpacks and bags kicking around the house, so we are opting for the soda only... and will use the extra $23 in the gift shop! If my daughter wants a hat - we will just buy her one.
MinnesotaTraveler Posted January 22, 2008 Author #9 Share Posted January 22, 2008 I think we will do the same thing. I thought it would be neat if the backpack was waiting for him but for the cost difference we'll let him pick out his own T-shirt and hat.
CanadianTwosome Posted January 22, 2008 #10 Share Posted January 22, 2008 The backpack also includes a pair of sunglasses. We bought one for our daughter on our last cruise and she really liked it. The colors are red, yellow and blue, and she thought it was great. She's used it a couple of times since the cruise as well. I don't remember if she's ever worn the tee shirt, but the one they get on the last night of Kid's Crew (don't miss it!) has everyone's name on it and they colour it themselves, so that's the one she likes. She also doesn't drink any carbonated beverages and doesn't like US style iced tea, so the soda plan was a waste for us. All in all, we were okay with the purchase, simply because she enjoyed the bag and everything in it so much while on the holiday - even if most of it hasn't gotten any use since. It was a novelty on her first cruise and considering how much my husband and I spent on drinks in souvenir glasses, it really didn't cost much comparatively.
