Vatican Museums closed on 5/22

The Colosseum will be open. That's a Catholic holy-day, not an Italian national holiday. Some years back I was in Rome on Corpus Christi, and I don't remember St. Peter's being closed; but there might be more Masses and/or a procession that day, which may or may not throw a monkey-wrench into your plans to tour the Basilica. I do remember that the Pope held a Holy Hour late in the afternoon (maybe 5 PM?) on Corpus Christi, outside in St. Peter's Square. If that happens again this year, be aware that the Basilica is always closed whenever he's out there standing on the podium right in front of it.
