tricruisers Posted April 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2004 We were reading on line the descripton of the tour that includes Pearl Harbor Memorial, following our cruise. It states that no purses, backpacks, etc are allowed on this tour. What do you do with your important items? Are they on a locked bus during the harbour tour or the whole day? Do the important papers you need have to be packed in your luggage? Anyone done this tour on the way to the airport? [NCL Aloha]
spleen93 Posted April 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2004 4 posts down from where you were: http://messages.cruisecritic.com/2/OpenTopic?a=tpc&s=927093444&f=309097554&m=944105331 If you're doing the ship's tour, I suspect that they will allow you to keep personal items on the bus since the driver will most likely stay with the bus. Any important papers (such as tickets, passports, etc.) should be kept with you as much as possible and NOT packed in your luggage (good way to get them stolen). Seawishes Posted April 17, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 17, 2004 We just took an excursion on disembarkation day last week. It was not the Pearl Harbor excursion, but I can report that we were able to leave anything we needed to leave on the bus. Big Luggage was underneath you in the storage area under the motorcoach, and carryons/purses could be with you in the bus. We were off and on the bus about 4-5 times for different sights around Oahu, and the bus driver was always with the bus. tricruisers Posted April 17, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted April 17, 2004 Thanks Spleen and Seawishes, The tour we were hoping to do to Pearl Harbour says that not even a camera case can be taken [the camera only.]. I will need big pockets to hold tickets, passports, wallet, etc. I certainly did not intend to put our valuables in the luggage, but wondered how it is 'handled'. Looking forward to a visit to Hawaii.
Seawishes Posted April 17, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 17, 2004 I don't know how much of a risk-taker you are....we left the passports, tickets, money, etc on the bus. Everyone on the bus will be in the same boat (as it were). So making sure the bus is kept secure will be on everyone's mind. Enjoy the memorial...and the cruise!!! spleen93 Posted April 18, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 18, 2004 I agree that the bus should be secure enough.
