You can take the Light Rail downtown from the airport- then take a taxi to the port. We have a roll call on this cruise if you wanna join us there - under Pride roll calls :D

I would really like to know why now wone is saying who the new Cd is too. I found Jeff brronsoon to be totally sappy and annoying too...Bye y'alll:mad:

I found Jeff BROOOOSOOOOOOOOON ( ones that have been on the boat before w/ him will get that), I thought he was adequate but i've had better ones in the past on other lines. Does anyone know who the current comedian is?

Just to answer the dining room question from the previous page.

On the upper deck there are windows with one table for 8 people lined up with it, we were placed at one of these, but moved to be with friends after the first night to one of the booths they have running down the side, inside of those next to the opening to the lower level are 2 seat tables, perfect for romantic couples, but kind of get in the way of the bread roll fights going on across the opening

This is all such great info about the Pride!! We are booked on the Mar '09, 14-day repositioning cruise through the Panama Canal and on to Miami. It will be such a fantastic adventure---especially since I'll be spending my birthday doing the 8-hour transit through the canal.

Does anyone have any thoughts to offer on the casino on the Pride? We were on the Elation out of SD in Oct. and I came home addicted to the Golden Monkey-----that's a penny slot machine, by the way, not a DOD!!

Anyone remember that game on the Pride? I almost hope they don't have it!!

Just back from the cruise..the new CD is mark Price..He is halarious. the comdeians are Jerome? and some other guy. There is alot of people off of America's got talent as entertainers. There is one adult only pool on deck 9 AFT.DH did not do too good in the Casino. I didn't like that they put your winnings on your S&S card and not give you the cash!

The Drinking water sucks!! It taste like chlorine. The waiters were selling bottled water on the first day:eek:.

Ask away!!!

I figured out how to not feel like you have to order the chocolate melting cake every night at dinner. Get the recipe, which I did, and make it all the time at home. I just made it for Thanksgiving dinner. It was a huge hit. :D

Yes- they have a bank of about 8 of them close to the cage/cashier (L wall as you enter from aft). Most of the penny slots are cheap (Cleo, Texas Tea, Surfing something, Martians) & they give horrible pay-outs.

We had a great time, but I was disappointed in the ship as a whole. The food was great, especially the grilled shrimp, the lobster & of course the Melting chocolate cake, but the water had a bad taste to it. I reccommend you take your own.

Joe & I went around the ship, just taking pics of the different areas of the ship & played Trivia every day. Mel & Justin were my favorite entertainment team members. Mark, the CD, was a little too talky for my taste. Also, I was disappointed that he did not take part in the Legends show (on the Elation, both Sonny & Cher were played by male entertainment crew members, which was hillarious, & the Elation CD played Dolly Parton).

There were not enough port-days activities for people who chose not to go ashore.

The decor was great, but there was no "theme" it-- each room clashed with the other-- a bit too much.

Matzatlan was beautiful. We got to see the rock diver-I got a great pic (see attached). We also had a marriachi band come aboard at PV.

Now I have to relax & recover from this head cold I've developed!

I agree. I found him to be a "cheaky monkey"

I am the woman that gave him the flag pin he talked about .The one to support out troops.he sure was a better then jeff brrrronsooon as far as not being too annoying.

We did the Marigalante in PV, Randi's happy horses in Maz and lands beach break and snorkel( very dangerous. I am injured from this one, and would never recommend anyone do this excusursion EVER!!!)

Did you find the crew kind of lack lustre? We sure did.The ( african american) Male bartender in the atrium bar needs an attitude adjustment.

Come to think about it alot of the crew needs a long break!!!

thanks, Cheryl!

I'll be on the look-out for my "Golden Monkey"! OMG, we're on the Pride for 14 days! This could get very serious! Actually, I had a lot of luck on the Elation. I discovered the "trick" about this machine and cashed out about $250 on my last night (about $25 invested).

Fortunately, BF is VERY generous when it comes to his Sail & Sign card in the casino! I'm still looking for some good perks from the Ocean Players Club. Sure would be nice to get a free drink now and then when you're playing.

Anyone ever stayed in 8236?? Any issues with this room?

Also, if you have stayed in this level of Room on Carnival and a Balcony room on RCCL, how are they comparable. We have stayed in a Junior Suite and D1 balcony on Royal and are booked on our first Carnival cruise next July in cabin 8236.

Thanks

OUR ROOM wasn't ready when we got there (4208 on Main Deck)- the steward just disappeared & didn''t come back til we called 2x.

Our table was 161 for 1st seating & our servers, "kiss" & "pye" were great- kiss talked me out of the veggie lasagna & it was a good thing, a friend at an adjoining table (who had a server who DIDN'T make recommendations) hated it!

I do have to agree that the ship's water was bad. It is the first ship that I've sailed in which the water had a bad taste. The taste was in all the water onboard including the cabin, dining rooms and even the ice.

I will no longer make the recommendation to not take bottled water onboard.

Take care,

Mike
