What to do after the ceremony?

Okay so I booked the basic package with carnival (for 8 people) because we only figured 8 people would be cruising. This just includes the ceremony and champagne toast, and cake. Now there are a few more people who are interested in comming. Maybe 4 or 5 more people. I hate to sound cheap, but I dont want to pay the extra money for an hour of open bar and some finger food! I mean afterall we will be on this cruise for the next week with enough food to feed an army.

What is everyones experience with this? Has anyone just done the basic package? If so what do your guests do after? I dont know if I am stressing over nothing, but any advice anyone has would be helpful!

Thanks alot!

Our group just went to dinner in the regular dining room. We were all able to sit together. I didn't want to spend money on food when it was already included. Everyone seemed to have a great time. We planned on buying drinks but people ordered champagne before we got there so it ended up that we didn't need anything else. After the dinner most went their own way. A group of us ended up seeing a comedian and then to the casino, dancing, etc.

I took invitations with me to remind guests of the time and location of the wedding. Since I didn't know what dining room we would be in I just wrote it on the back of the envelope....not the classiest way to handle it but it was friends and family and they didn't care!

After my wedding I'm taking everyone to one of the specialty restaurants on the boat. They let me make a reservation already and will set up favors etc prior to my arrival. It is a better food option than the reception packages that NCL offers and everyone will get a 5 course meal. They can deliver a wedding cake also but with the dessert choices they have I'll let everyone pick what they want to eat.

I think it's best just to sit and have a meal together afterwards. Then it's time for drinks and dancing!
