Does anyone know how how to play pub poker?

I someone mentioned on one of the threads about "pub poker". We are sailing in a couple weeks with a bunch of 20 somethings and I'm looking for a little something to add a little competition.

 

If anyone has played or knows how to play I would appreciate a response.

I'm not sure if they're referring to a poker run. On our last cruise we hit 6 bars over the course of about an hour and everyone picked a card at each bar. Whoever could make the best 5 card hand at the end of the run won the pot. It was a whopping $10 buy in. The cards had to be signed by the dealer and the player to ensure that the card was valid and that folks weren't combining cards to make hands. It's cheap to run as it only costs you 6 decks of cards. The winning hand on our cruise was a full house Kings over Jacks!

 

It was a blast! You could of course play this out over a longer time and have a few drinking games to boot, such as low card buys at each bar, etc... Depends on how tight a group you've got...

Thanks Mark, They are all for any type of games. Last cruise we got kicked out of the Schooner Bar for playing LCR. Just trying to think of a one game a day with prizes at the end.
