"Guarantee" and Luggage Tags Question

I haven't seen this question posted yet, and I'm wondering if anyone can help. I have over a dozen cruises under my belt, but this is the first time that we have gone with a "Guarantee," in this case a balcony guarantee. My question is: how do you identify your luggage before you leave it with the dock porters, if you don't know what your cabin number is going to be? Do you drag your luggage through the check-in process, then tag it when you find out your cabin number, and return to the curb? I haven't done my Fun Pass yet, or completed the travel documents on line, so I don't know what my luggage tags will look like. Any assistance you can give that will ease my concern over this issue will be very much appreciated.

99% of the time you will know what your room number is before you sail. Generally a month or two out (sometimes more sometimes less) you will be able to see your room number online. This assignment can change but generally does not. However, if for some reason you get there and you don't know your assignment then the porter will.

Wow, that was fast. Thanks so very much. I had no idea the porters had that information. We booked over a year ago, and are now 60 days out, sailing on the Spirit on March 29, and our stateroom is still "TBA." Even though I have cruised many times, I still get really excited. This cruise is a mother/daughter cruise, and we are both excited. Thanks again.
