das1727 Posted January 29, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2008 Do you think a family of 4 would be comfortable in a grand suite on serenade of the seas
Pomperaugrr Posted January 30, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2008 We just had a Grand Suite on the Serenade last week. We travelled with our two daughters ages 7 and 9. We had plenty of room and more than enough storage space. The marble bathroom was huge, with a full tub/shower, double sinks, etc. There is a curtain that partitions off the main sleeping area from the seating area with the queen sized sleep sofa. There is also a huge balcony with two lounge chairs and two regular chairs. It was great. There are those that will say get adjoining cabins, to get privacy and two bathrooms. We would not feel comfortable with that option considering the age of our girls. Unless you have two teenagers of opposite gender, the Grand Suite will be perfect. Plus you get concierge service and use of the lounge! Maritza, the concierge is the best! We loved it so much, we are booked in a GS again next year on the Serenade! das1727 Posted January 30, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted January 30, 2008 Thanks so much for the information ..I also would prefer to have my kids in the same room . was there enough closet space for four
Pomperaugrr Posted January 30, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2008 We brought 5 suitcases and a garment bag. We could not fill up all of the closet space or the drawers. There is plenty of closet space, plus two full drawers and the medicine cabinets in the bathroom. Do a search on webshots, for Radiance Class Grand Suites. You will see mirrored doors behind the bar area. Those are all closets. The bar area is also a bank of drawers for clothing. I don't have a photo hosting site, so I can't post photos. There are lots of photos online already though. The only problem is that we are now spoiled, and had to book another for next year! It is not much more than two D-1's and the space is amazing. You can also borrow DVD's and CD's from the concierge. There is an in room DVD player and speakers throughout the suite. No flat panel TV's yet. The new bedding is amazing too. Pomperaugrr Posted January 31, 2008 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2008 Are the children allowed in the lounge mine are 12 and 16 Also in the evening are they allowed in bar areas or the disco with a parent thanks again After 5:00 p.m., children are not allowed in the Concierge lounge. I have seen kids with parents in some of the other lounges on board, but with the Adventure Ocean program, most kids will want to be there, instead of with mom and dad. We were very impressed with Adventure Ocean. The facilities, staff and programs were great. The older kids 13 and up have the Fuel teen club/disco. Ours were too young for that, but had a great time. They always wanted to stay when we went to pick them up. AO has one night where the younger kids get to go to Fuel for dancing and fun. Most of the lounges are geared for adults, but no one will stop you from bringing your kids, except for the Concierge lounge (after 5:00). Your kids might be bored by the adult lounges, but will have a great time at AO. Ours made a lot of friends that they will keep in touch with, both from the US and the UK.
