drumleggagh Posted February 5, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 5, 2008 I have a Celebrity Visa card that I was planning on using to pay the remaining balance on my cruise (Panama Canal 1/3/09) since they advertised that you get "double points" to be used for onboard credits when you use the card for Celebrity purchases. The thought I just had was if I use the card to pay for my cruise through my travel agent (AAA) will Celebrity see it as a Celebrity purchase or as a AAA purchase? If they would see it as a AAA purchase is there any way that I can pay Celebrity directly? Would that mean my TA loses any of her commission?
tbelian Posted February 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 5, 2008 We use a TA, and also use the Celebirty Visa. While the TA is not AAA, the charge always shows up as being from Celebrity, and we get the double points for it. It should not impact commissions. YMMV. HLN500 Posted February 5, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 5, 2008 On one cruise the charge went through as AAA. I called the credit card after the fact and was credited double points.
