Ecological Tours and snorkeling

Hi there,

Has anyone used Ecological Tours to snorkel with? They will pick us up and fly us over to San Pedro and then we go snorkeling at the Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley. We used Coral Breeze last time which went to Caye Caulker and they were very good but I was trying to find a different snorkel place but in the barrier reef system. Any information on Ecological Tours would be appreciated.

Thanks!

cruisefreak13,

We just got back from our western caribbean cruise and one of our stops was Belize, in Belize we went with Ecological Tours and did the Caye Caulker Shark/ Ray Alley snorkel at the Barrier Reef, it was one of the best excursions we did throughout our cruise, the staff were excellent and took good care of us.

I would certainly reccomend this outfit to anyone wanting to do an excursion with them.

Have fun!

priatesparrow,

Thank you so much for the input. We went to Caye Caulker/Shark Ray Alley with a different company a couple of years ago so that is why we were thinking about flying over to San Pedro and snorkeling in a different area and with a different company. It is good to know that they are a good company to work with. Did you see any sharks when you were there?

Thanks!

We are doing this next week - did you have plenty of time to get back to the ship? We are in port from 8 - 5

Hi Momtoccc,

We arrived at the dock a little bit late and a rep from Ecological Tours was waiting for us and we were immediately escorted over to the kios where we paid the balance of our payment, we then took off about 5mins after.

When in Caye Caulker the guides went to get bait to feed the sharks and the rays, we snorkeled for about 50mins. at Coral Garden, I must say what a beautiful Reef after which we went over to Shark ray Alley it was such an amazing experience, we didn't see any sharks though! there was one but it took off before I got a chance to see it but the Rays were all over.

In Caye Caulker we spent about an hour and half strolling the sand streets and enjoyed some local food, we got back to the dock with plenty of time to still shop around the tourism village.

We had a great time and the guides were excellent!

I hope you enjoy!!

Hello, my family & I are going on this tour March 11th. I was wondering how many people were on your tour (there are 5 of us) and you said you were a little late, what time was that. We've been to Belize before and sometimes it takes a while to get a tender off the ship if you're not a ship tour, so I'm a little nervous about us getting there in time. Any info you could provide would be appreciated.

Too Eze,

Our meeting time was 30mins prior to departure, and we got there just about 10mins before the actual departure time the good thing was that if we had missed our departure time we would have been put on the second departure which was an hour after, there were approx. between 25 to 30 passengers on the boat and we had like 4 guides.

I believe we should have been told that there would have been a second departure but Marvin told us that it is not always guaranteed specially if there is only one ship in port, I hope everything goes well for you, we had an amazing time the staff made the big difference it is not always that you go to a third world country and get this kind of service.
