Thanks so much. That article helped. Have you been there? The details of the trip include a 1.45 min bus ride. When arriving we begin a carriage ride around town. (Please tell me that the horses are well taken care of, I have heard horror stories?) Visit the convent, etc.

I do appreciate any extra info. We are so excited about this excursion.

Yes! I've been to Izamal many times. The horses seem well-cared for, the convent is very interesting, and on the main square is a new Cultural Center which features arts and crafts from around Mexico. There is also a small store on the main square called Hecho a Mano which has wonderful crafts for sale.
