Diving on Carnival Liberty

I booked a 2 tank dive thru Carnival, in Grand Cayman in April.

I am wondering if anyone has any comments regarding this excurstion.

 

Does anyone know if and who they use or a dive operator?

 

I am new to diving and was going to book a local dive operator but I wanted to meet some new people that I will continue to travel with.

Sounds like you have valid reasons to go with the ship's excursion. You should have a fine time.

.....is available just to the right after getting off the tender. I understand your reasons for doing the ship trip however.

 

The last time we were there we went a little further to a place I had stayed some years ago, Sunset House; and made a shore dive still in sight of the ship. We talked with other divers from our ship there while rinsing off in their pool.

While I rarely use the ship to dive with, when in a tendering port it maybe smart if the seas are rough

It's hard to get a bad dive in GC, so you should be ok. And sometimes diving with the ship's excursion, especially on the first or second dive port is a great way to meet fellow divers aboard.
