Want To Hear About Coral

Hi, going in March. Have not seen much about what's happening on the ship. Interested in lecturers, night entertainment in the theater, daytime activities at sea (no bingo, pool, casino or art though). Any scholarship at sea classes, etc? Thanks to past cruisers.

We just got off the Coral on 2/5 and it is a very nice ship. It is an easy ship to get around. The crew are very friendly and anxious to please. There is a lot to do and it is all announced through the Patter. There were pottery classes, lectures on various ports and the Panama Canal, classes for the computer and demonstrations in the spa. There is also trivia in the morning and late afternoon.

I found the entertainment to my liking. The singers and dancers were great and the sound was not loud as on other cruiselines that we have been on. We had a lovely female singer from Canada named Lovina Fox who won several awards like the Grammy in the US. A guitar/comic named Duncan Turk was onboard who was very entertaining. I'm sure you will have different entertainers. Get to the theater early as seats go quickly!! and there are those that still "save" even though they say no saving!!

The passengers were a mix of ages and they were a friendly bunch. Our waiter Leo (we had traditional dining) was very efficient and did his job well. The food was good and there was something for everyone. We had no complaints about anything on this cruise. Going through the canal was a great experience.

I'm sure you will enjoy your cruise and have a good one. I hope I helped a little. There probably are more seasoned cruisers that will post too.

I just posted a review under member reviews of ships---so you can go there and see all of my opinions. I love the Coral Princess. I thought the entertainment was very good...Lovena Fox and Duncan Tuck are both very good and are riding with the ship....the guest entertainers we had were also very good. The Princess Dancers and Singers are also exceptional...We did all the Ballroom Dancing lessons and Dallas and Kaylea do a very good job of explaining the dances. They are fun too...We also did the line dancing lessons and those were as good-simpled down to be accomplished. They had the art auctions, and the casino is fairly large and busy....my friend spent a lot of time there and came out close to even so he was happy. The ship has nice pool areas. The lotus pool cover was on all the time and the chairs had a lot of people snoozing and reading in there. we found a deck on the back of the ship area to hang out on.. We kept way busy on the sea days, maybe too busy.

I echo what Carol posted! We loved the food, anytime someone feeds me I'm happy. There was a cook with a large grill at the end of the breakfast buffet to make omelets or eggs to order. About 12 different items to put in the omelets.

Entertainment was great, Princess dancers were very good and some of the comics were very funny. One guy was terrible, he did comedy and juggling-Steve Patient. Do yourself a favor and do something else.

We had an inside cabin so we headed to Baja forward for the Canal. Really nice place to watch everything.

There was a history professor that gave lectures on the Panama Canal, pirates and the Carribean almost every day. He was very interesting.

If you have any other questions just ask!

There is plenty to do on the Coral during the day even without the things you mentioned (we've been on it twice). The evening entertainment is consistently well done--the production shows are good, and we've seen Duncan Tuck multiple times and he is a fine entertainer. If you do a Google search you will find daily Patters for the Coral that will tell you everything that you need to know.
