Pier to Golden Zone?

We will be on Dawn Princess in April. How far it it from the pier to the Golden Zone?

Its about 5 miles from the cruise port, but there is not much there, a few shops lousy shopping, a few restaurants and the beach with lots and lots of vendors in your face. There is a trolly tour that you can book when you get off at the port, cheap, get a good tour of the city and it ends up in the golden zone with a ride back to the ship.
