Mini Suite Balconies on Star

We had an AF suite w/ balcony on the Star back in 2004. We had a big group of people (mostly families) with 5 or 6 rooms in a row. Our balcony connected with our friends right next to us, as did our rooms. But we could not connect other balconies. Had to be content with leaning over the railing and waving. :) I am not sure if all the balcony rooms are set up like this, but that's how it was for us. There was a small thing that the kids had to climb over to go back and forth on the balconies, but being able to open that up was nice.

Just got back from mini-suite on the Star last week. Yes, the balconies do open.

Does anyone know whether the Star balconies for the minisuites open up to the adjoining balcony? We are traveling with 2 other families and would like to open them all up to have one big balcony.
