Any tips for getting on the first tender

We will be on the Glory and want to get off for our private tour ASAP. In the past I have stood in line to get the #1 tender tickets for our group; only to find out that others just went down to the meeting point for ships excursions and walked off behind those groups. Does anyone have experience with this? Not trying to take anyones spot that will be on a ships excursion, but do want to get off as fast as possible. Suggestions welcome!

Go the the excursions briefing. You'll find out where to meet on board ship to queue up for tenders. Most often, all you need do is show up early, tell the person in charge, generally the cruise director or his/her assistant, that you have an early tour and need one of the first tenders out. They'll be happy to help you.

Just show up early at the meeting place. Usually it is in the main theater. Just tell them you have an early independent tour and they will get you off on the first or next tender. You want to bring a e-mail or copy of your tour. Sometimes they ask to see it.
