wishful thinking Posted February 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2008 Hi all. I have a question. Has anyone done the Atlantis Submarine excursion on St Thomas and is it worth the $$. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)
cpt_cruisenut Posted February 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2008 Hi! My wife and I were on the Crown last week and did do this excursion. IMHO, it IS worth the money. We descended to 80 feet and saw PLENTY! I would be happy to email some pictures with you if you're interested. Unfortunately I don't have a way to post them on line for all to see. Happy Cruising! turbo46032 Posted February 12, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2008 Hi all. I have a question. Has anyone done the Atlantis Submarine excursion on St Thomas and is it worth the $$. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. :) I am an engineer and have seen and done my share of 'wow' technologies. I gotta say that the Atlantis sub excursion was one of the most memorable things I've done in my nearly 50 years. If you're a sucker for aquariums and such, double 'wow'. It really puts things into perspective in terms of the planet. Even better, my daughters, chatty as ever, were silent thru the voyage, taking everything in. Amazing. wishful thinking Posted February 12, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted February 12, 2008 Hi turbo46032 and cpt cruisenut. Thank you so much for your replies. Sounds like we will be doing this then when we board CB on 13 April for B2B. Did you book through Princess or do it independently? Once again, thank you for your replies. It sounds wonderful :)
A Sixth? Posted February 12, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 12, 2008 Had buddies who did the sub in St T and they loved it. We did the Atlantis Sub in Aruba and thought it was great. It's one of those tours that you should do once. The best time to do it is on a clear day with the sun high in the sky (noonish) so the light is as good as possible below the waves. cpt_cruisenut Posted February 12, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 12, 2008 We booked this (and all other) excursions via the Princess web-site. It was a VERY smooth process. The tickets for your excursions are delivered to your cabin by your cabin steward on your first day on board. Enjoy!:D

travelquick Posted February 13, 2008 #9 Share Posted February 13, 2008 How much is it to ride the Atlantis :)
turbo46032 Posted February 13, 2008 #10 Share Posted February 13, 2008 We did this about 3 years ago, and the price was $80-90 per person thru Princess, may have been $5 or so less booking directly. Make sure everyone in your party can climb very steep stairs in/out of the sub, and have a decent camera.

turbo46032 Posted February 14, 2008 #12 Share Posted February 14, 2008 I can't be that bad - can it???? I think the actual sub dive is pretty uneventful but getting there involves a lengthy boat ride in a tender-sized craft, which, depending on the weather, could be interesting. The craft meets the sub way out to minimize wasting time for the sub.
