jondan Posted February 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2008 We're travelling with 2 young kids (6 and 8) in a couple of weeks and are looking for suggestions re. off-shore excursions or ideas. We're not keen on those offered by the cruise (seem expensive for what you get). Like beaches and boating, and colorful fish. Ideas? Thx
Jarhead235 Posted February 17, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2008 You will probably get a better response if you go to the specific ports boards and pose this question. Generally speaking, if you are just wanting to hit the beach, you can just get off of the ship and grab a cab. There is always a visitors desk at the pier, and they can fill you in on the best beaches to go to. It's been MANY years since we hit PV and Mazatlan so I can't really give any useful insight. However, Cabo is kind of a neat place to just wander around. Go to the Giggling Marlin for lunch...really good food, and very reasonably priced. You can even have your pic taken with the marlin.....just be sure and do the pic BEFORE you eat. Check out our Panama Canal cruise in our signature to see what I mean. ;) There are MANY vendors with glass bottom boats that are reasonably priced....the same ones that the cruise lines use - but at a better price. Kind of gives you a snorkeling type of view without getting wet. Hope this helps! Joe
Desert star Posted February 17, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 17, 2008 We went horse back riding on the beach in Mazatlan. One of the highlights of cruise. My son and niece and nephew ages 5, 7, 9 all rode their own horses as they were very tame. Someone did hold on to the 5 year olds horse just to be safe. http://www.randishappyhorses.com/ I would highly recommend Randi
