NeedAVacation2 Posted February 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2008 We will be stopping in Montego Bay for a day from Carnival in March - does anyone know if there is a tour that includes both the zip lines as well as the hike to the river / falls? Is there enough time? Also, how many lines are on the zip line thing? Thanks so much!!!!
Calif Cruisers Posted February 22, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2008 We just got back from Sea Princess cruise and did private tour in MoBay with Barrett Adventures to YS Falls where we did the zip line tour. Here is link below to that tour. YS Falls was beautiful. Very lush with lots of waterfalls. We didn't do the river tubing since water level was too low. Drive to YS Falls was about 1 1/2 hours on a somewhat windy road. We arranged to be picked up about 8 am so we beat the Princess excursion there. The Chukka guides working the zip line were very helpful ($30 pp to do zip). Only three lines, two very short and one long one over the waterfall which was a lot of fun and a great way for us to do our first zip line. Also had a guide at the falls who helped us get some wonderful waterfall photos. Lunch place on property with jerk & bbq chicken and hamburgers was good. We decided to see Negril afterwards rather than go back to the ship since we were there til 11 pm. Our guide Chester from Barrett was very nice and knowledgable. You can do falls and river tubing for $85 pp thru Barrett ($115 with zip line) or for our party of four we did a custom tour for $40 per hour (six hour minimum) and pay own entrance fees and zip. Hope that helps. Enjoy your cruise. http://www.barrettadventures.com/page2.htm#
Charming01 Posted February 25, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 25, 2008 We just got back and we did the zipline tour through Carnival and there was no way we had the energy to do the falls afterwards. We did 7 zips, one short drop and one repel one and we were exhausted. What a rush though! We would do it again in a heart beat.
