snorkels?

i'm looking to buy a snorkel for the cruise (i'm germ freakish. lol) but will use the other equipment they provide. i'm just wondering if anyone has a dry snorkel and how they are. not sure if a dry snorkel would be better, or get a regular snorkel maybe with a wave guard?

i'm a beginner,so i'd like it to be as easy as possible which is why i was thinking about the dry snorkel.
