We booked 3 balcony guarenteed cabins for our cruise April 26th. I just looked at our reservation and we have been assigned 8c (riveria deck) cabin # 8389, 8393. amd 8397 they are all in a row next to each other on the starboard side of the ship ( i think lol) . Riveria deck is one below Lido. By the looks of it our cabins are not under a pool area but under the red sail buffet. What is your opinions on this location?

TIA

Laura, try again, first what ship are you on? I don't ever recall Riveria Deck way up on top  or even a Balcony deck. Riveria is usually deck 1. There are no Category C cabins on deck 1.

Actually, deck 8 is the Veranda deck. Those should be great cabins, in that you are between the midship and aft elevators. You will obviously have easy access to the Lido deck and the mid ship stairway/elevator will take you right down to the Casino Bar area on the Promenade. There should be no problems with noise from the restaurant above. Have fun!

Oppps you are correct I am on the Verandah deck 8389, 8393 and 8397. I was thinking Riveria becasue that is the deck that automatically loads when you go on Carnival's Website to look at deck plans. It stuck in my mind. I guess I am just really excited lol thanks for the clarification. Anyway how is my cabin on the Verandah deck below the red sail.

has anyone ever had a room close to the elevators? I would think it would be noisy. I'm not complaining too much, tho- I'm bringing ear plugs for all the little annoyances...and I don't plan on sleeping too much- might miss out on something!!! lol

You are on the Verandah deck aft, directly under the buffet. I think you will really like these cabins. The location is very convenient for all Lido activities. You will not enjoy any sun on these balconies as the Lido extends out above you. You won't need to worry about rain either as your balcony is covered.

Yippee...thanks so much! I was hoping for a good location for the others in my group. We choose to do guarantee's to save a few bucks, but I have worried that we would end up in a really bad location. It is my inlaws first cruise and I was hoping it would be as close to perfect for them. Thanks again for the reply.

PS yes I am on the Glory !!

Thank you for that info. I think my inlaws will enjoy the balcony more if it is covered!

Hi, we were on Ecstasy, Riveria 202, it is right by the elevators. I was a little worried about noise, but hubby walks with a cane, and we really wanted a room close to the elevators. Worked out great, I don't remember hearing any loud noise from people in the elevator lobby, or walking down the hall. We even had to open the door to hear the announcements over the speakers. It was very convenient for us.

Good Luck,

Diane

I found this website very helpful. In Cruise 101 Basics, she has a list of all the cabins and concerns re certain selections. http://www.seauonboard.com/cruise101.htm

The tip is, that if your cabin # is NOT on the list, then your OK. I think it may only be for Carnival ships.

Hope this helps!

This website is wonderful...I printed out and made copies of alot of information on cruising for my entire party, thanks for pointing it out for me. It is great for any cruise newbies and some not so newbies :p

We were close to the aft elevators on the Valor - EMpress deck. We didn't hear anything and loved the convenience of the stairs being right there. We rarely used the elevators - but with the stairs right there, they were both very convenient!
