Hispanos 7 Suiza or Apsis Atrium or Neri, or...?

Recommended Posts

  • More input on the Hispanos Siete Suiza Aparte-hotel?
  • How close to the Gothic Quarter & Las Ramblas (can we walk?)
  • Are the suites large & well maintained?
  • If it is a choice between staying in the Gothic Quarter or staying here, what would you pick (we will be a family of 8 adults)?
  • If the choice is between Hispanos 7 Suiza or the Apsis Atrium Palace or Hotel Neri or...? Want quiet, clean large rooms, old-world atmosphere. Any suggestions welcomed!!

THANKS for any help here....

Not sure if you've checked reviews on Tripadvisor: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187497-d231514-Reviews-Hispanos_7_Suiza-Barcelona_Catalonia.html

How many nights will you be staying in Barcelona for? If it's a short stay, I think it would be preferable to be in the area of Las Ramblas. The Hispanos 7 is across from the Sagrada...convenient to the Metro, but a good hike (2 miles?) to Las Ramblas.

We will be staying a few nights before and after our Med. cruise in September in Barcelona. There is 1 couple and 2 singles in our party, so needed 3 bedrooms.

The 1st 3 nights we are staying at an apartment, rented thru Friendly Rentals. There is a 3 night minimum. (friendlyrentals.com)

This apartment, the Sert I, is beautiful, and located a few minutes walk to Placa de Catalunya. 3 bedroom, 3 bath for e750 (3 nites) plus a cleaning fee of $80 and a refundable security deposit.

After our cruise, we are staying in the Royal Suite at Hispanos 7 Suiza. Got a 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath for e400 for 1 nite. Can't beat the cost or quality. Yes, it's a bit out of the way for Las Ramblas, but once you've walked the Ramblas a morning and evening, you're ready for something else.

Hope this helps! Travel Nymph

That's OK if you've stayed in the area of Las Ramblas ... as you will be doing for 3 nights before your stay at Hispanos, but for a first time visitor who wants to be within walking distance of Las Ramblas and Bari Gotic (a wise choice in my mind), it may not seem like such a great idea to be situated near La Sagrada...esp. with the logistics of transportation for 8 people.

We stayed at H7S and have booked again with them. First time we were 6 adult women so the 3 bedrooms and 2 baths worked great. It ended up much less expensive than getting 3 rooms somewhere else.

Cost for taxi to Place Catalunya (end of La Rambla) was 5 euros per taxi last September. We did that twice, but we think Barcelona is so much more than La Rambla... personal opinion. The Hispanos 7 Suiza is so convenient to the metro and Sagrada Familia and nice and quiet but plenty of nice shopping and restaurants within a block or 2. BTW, the hotel restaurant was VERY good.

Best part was having a huge covered terrace (and washer/dryer since we were a post cruise stay) and the attentiveness of the staff there.

We're staying again, post cruise, in May.

Wherever you stay, enjoy Barcelona. Wonderful city. (And try Luz de Gas restaurant on the waterfront if you're down that way. A floating Med. food / Tapas place.)

Courtenay: Your arguments for Hispanos are convincing...and I can see that it has a lot of advantages. And many of the highlights are within a metro, bus or cab ride .... Las Ramblas, Parc Guell, Casa Mila, Casa Batllo, etc.

In addition to taxis being quite reasonable, the subway/bus system is great...and the T10 tickets (10 tickets for 7.2E) a bargain. http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/transport/barcelona-metro.html

We've also booked 3 nights at the Hispanos Siete Suiza hotel for our Med cruise this summer. The reasons I chose this were the 2 separate bedrooms which with 2 small kids was very important to us as it will give us the privacy we want before having all 4 of us in a cabin onboard for a week. The fact that it isn't on Las Ramblas is an advantage as we're less likely to have the kids woken by noise yet we'll be close to the Sagrada, metro and HO-HO tourist bus (pick-up at Sagrada). Also breakfast is included in the price. Throw in the excellent Trip Advisor reviews and it was a done-deal for us.

Incidently does anyone know if certain apartments at the Hotel are better than others (in terms of noise, if any, and views)? Thanks.
