ccpuff04 Posted February 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2008 Would anyone know where the ship docks when Silversea stops in St. Petersburg - 11 night Baltic in August? I have heard the English Embankment is possible and would prefer to not be in the shipyard outside town. Anyone know for sure? Any comments from previous Silversea cruisers who have taken this cruise? Thanks. CoCo Puff
Donaldm Posted February 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2008 The Silversea website has the following about St. Petersburg: "Pier Information The ship is scheduled to dock at the English Embankment. Although the pier is close to the city center, it is recommended that guests take a taxi rather than walk, especially at night." To be sure, find your voyage on the website, and click on St. Petersburg. You should find the pier information about half way down. We were on the Silver Cloud a few years back which spent three nights at the English Embankment which is a great location - a few blocks from the Hermitage. We were a block from the city wedding hall. It was delightful to see the young newly weds outside the hall. The cruise is fantastic cruise and I am sure you will have a wonderful time. -Don in Sacramento
ccpuff04 Posted February 29, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted February 29, 2008 Thanks, Don! We've heard a lot of negative stuff about the shipyard - we had some friends who were at the English Embankment a couple of years ago and said that it was the only way to cruise into St. Petersburg. Thanks, again. Allen
Commesso Posted March 1, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 1, 2008 Last year our early August Baltic cruise aboard the Silver Shadow, docked at the English Embankment.............a most convenient location. You will love St Petersburg. Zeke
