Playgrounds at Orient Beach

You will definitely have to cab it to Orient. We were at Le Galeon last time with a rental car and would like to try Orient this time around. I just read Coco section is where the playground is.

Could someone give us more detail about this?

Hi! Not sure if this is what you meant, but I mentioned on another thread that we found a small bar/cafe with a wooden playset in the sand in a mostly shaded area. Can't remember the name of the place, but if you are facing the water, it is just a little to the left of where the cabs were dropping people. It's not exactly a playground, just a climbing apparatus with (I think) a slide. I can't even remember if there were swings. This weekend, I'll check some old photos, and see if I can provide more details. My kids (2 and 6 at the time) spent some time there and had fun.

My boys were 2 and 8. We spent about 2.5 hours here.

Road leading to beach: rural, pot hole filled, winding, desserted

Pass butterfly farm keep driving, slight left and you will hit it.

The day we went there were about 8-9 local families enjoying the crystal clear shallow waters. They had beach blankets and coolers with food. We had blue cruise ship towels :( . Beach is not too deep 10-15 from parked car to water. White sand - medium fine, but shallow and no waves. DH walked out 75-100 feet and was still waist deep. Small minows about 3 inches long swims between your legs.

Chez Pats is the only concession there. We had 2 burgers/fries/soda for $25US. At first we just parked our towels with the locals; but later 3-4 other family of cruisers arrived and rented chairs and umbrellas here. Who knew.

Our boys had great time with the local kid's that brought their surf boards. Only saw 2 topless french moms; if I had their bodies I would go topless too!

I hope this helps.
