jillmar Posted February 29, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 29, 2008 We will be in Nassau on a Tuesday. We would like to taste the cuisine at Arawak Cay but I didn't know if it was open on Tuesdays. Is the fish fry the same thing?
Squarebob Spongepants Posted March 2, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2008 We were in Nassau on a weekday also and ended up at Arawak Cay around 11:00 a.m. We were with a tour guide and he took us to Twin Brothers which is th eone he suggested. They were just opening up at that time, but many of the places around looked like they were not open yet. Wewere able to wait about 20 minutes, sipping on some very good pina coladas and then our conch fritters were ready. We were only there to try them. This was in August 2007. Good luck! Is the fish fry the same thing? Fish fry and Arawak Cay are used interchangeably, and usually only a couple of places will be open that early, Goldies and Twin Bros., both of which have excellent conch dishes and beverages. Try the Sky Juice at Goldies. :p
jillmar Posted March 2, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted March 2, 2008 Thank you. We will be doing the powerboat tour and will be returning between 5:00-6:00 pm. Do you think if we headed to Arawak Cay at that time that some of the places will be open? What time do they normally shut down?

Although hours vary from vendor to vendor, there is generally something open, seven days a week from 9 AM to 11 PM. Jitneys stop running at about 6 PM though, so you'll be cabbing it, or if you feel up for an evening walk, you can also do that.
