jewels95 Posted March 1, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 1, 2008 We just returned from the Star Princess South America and left 2/4 and returned 2/21 The weather in Santiago is typical summer weather (85 to 90 degrees). As you go south it gets colder. I wore denim pants during the day, a long sleeve shirt and brought a heavy leather jacket for the glacier cruising. In Punta Arenas, it is very windy and if you go to the penguin viewing it is about a 1 mile walk to see them. The winds can be 50 to 70 mph so bring a hat and gloves for this. It is worth the walk to see them so up close and personal. Buenos Aires was back to 90 degree weather. The Star Princess has self service laundry machines or you can have the cruise line launder or dry clean the close. Sharon
