Sky Suite Mercury question

We are currently booked on 8-24-08 Alaska in 1236 sky suite. Thus is one of the suites the large balcony that does not have a cut out. Do anyone prefer the one's with the cut out? I'm looking for the pros and cons of each type of balcony, any insight is helpful! :)

A absolutely prefer the cut-out to the box-shape verandah.

 

The cut-out lets in more light, and allows better panoramic views - fore and/or aft, depending on where the cut is.
