Tintown Posted March 5, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2008 Our TA has booked us into the Corus Hotel. It's near Lancaster Gate in the Hyde Park area. Is this a good location for getting around London? We would like to use the HOHO buses wherever possible.
handfordr Posted March 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2008 Our TA has booked us into the Corus Hotel. It's near Lancaster Gate in the Hyde Park area. Is this a good location for getting around London? We would like to use the HOHO buses wherever possible. Within the context of the rate you are getting the Corus is in an excellent position. Its just around the corner from Lancaster Gate Underground and Hyde Park is just across the road from the hotel. Public buses run a 24x7 service along the Bayswater Road every few minutes to Oxford Street, a journey of less than 5 minutes. In the morning the HOHO buses go along the Bayswater Road on a special pickup service, but its just a feeder service into the main HOHO routes. Marble Arch, about 10 minutes walk through Hyde Park is a major stop for the HOHO buses. Lancaster Gate itself is a very elegant part of town.
